The Cool Factor

There is a casual vibe I like to capture when I photograph women.  There is some posing involved of course, but I also really like to work with the natural movements they have.  Everyone moves differently and everyone has a different way about them.

Alexandra definitely had her own vibe.  I had seen her work with other photographers and I really wanted to create images which showed off who she was, not just what she looked like.  She has the looks down, now we just had to show off how cool she was.

The cool factor certainly plays a part with all of my work.  Casual and reserved is something I go for when shooting boudoir or lingerie images.  You don’t want to try too hard, because then it looks forced.  This is Alexandra.  This is us, just hanging out taking some pictures.

Beauty and Beach

Chelsea and I had talked for a long time before finally setting up this shoot.  She was attending college and really wanted some sexy beach photos for herself.  This set was inspired by a Marisa Miller shoot, but of course we had to put our own little twist on it.

She reminded me more of a Jane Fonda or Brigitte Bardot, so I personally recommended that type of style too.  Just that simple elegance and grace, but with a little dash of sexy.

When it comes to my boudoir style, I certainly do not limit it to the bedroom. 😉

$99.00 Boudoir

Last year I ran several boudoir specials and it really worked out well.  This year I think I am just going to have a lower starting rate with simple packages available.  Keri was one of my clients who came in on a sale and it turned out to be a great session!

She only had one outfit picked out, and as it turns out that was more than enough!  We kept it simple, went for a soft yet edgy look and kept the shoot to only 45 minutes!  This is my inspiration for my new starting package, only $99.00.  This could be the coolest $99.00 you ever spend.

Casual and Cool

Jillian’s session is proof that sometimes less is more.  She just wanted that casual vibe, maybe a couple of shots with her boyfriend’s flannel shirt type of look.  A little Boho and a little glam.  Just something that showed her personality in an easy going way.

She had a dance background so some of the posing was a lot easier, but just having a conversation and letting the shoot go where it wanted to was definitely the method here.  We started by hanging out at the studio, took a drive to the beach and then wrapped up in everyone’s favorite car, my Mercedes.  No frills, just Jillian, myself and a camera.  Keeping it casual.

Brooklyn Boudoir

A little while ago I was in New York and one of my favorite people just happens to have a cute little place in Brooklyn.  Anya and I have known each other for quite a while and I have been lucky enough to be able to photograph her on more than one occasion.

This was kind of a last minute shoot, we didn’t have a plan but once I saw her apartment how could we not shoot there?  This turned into a little boudoir session and still a favorite!  I love working in natural environments, it just seems so comfortable and easy.  Isn’t that the way life is meant to be?

Ventura Studio

There are two main locations for my sessions.  I have a home studio in Palm Springs, CA and also a commercial studio in Ventura, CA.  These are kind of the best of both worlds as I get to live and work in my two favorite places in California!  They both have their advantages and both are just awesome places to shoot!

When Amanda came into my studio in Ventura I knew this was going to be a great session!  There was just something in the air where we both were on the same page and we just got into the shoot!  Amanda first came into my studio about a year before when she accompanied her friend to a shoot.  When she came in for her session it was nice because we had already met before and she was just ready to get to shooting!  The good news is that we are already planning our next shoot for Palm Springs!

I know I say it about all of my sessions but this was one of my favorites!  Maybe I just love what I do?  I must because they really are all my favorites for one reason or another. 😉
